“Hail & Blessed”  Prayer Starts Tomorrow

Though it is not Advent yet, tomorrow is the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostles, and that is the day to begin saying the 15 Hail and Blessed Prayers that in the Italian tradition are said each day from St. Andrew’s Feast to Christmas Day.

There are various wordings of the prayer that you can find by googling “Hail and Blessed Prayer”, but here is one rendition:

Hail and Blessed be the hour and the moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin, in Bethlehem, at midnight, in the piercing cold.  In that hour vouchsafe, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my petitions through the merits of Jesus Christ and His most holy Mother.  Amen.

Blessed Advent!

Jezu, ufam Tobie.
