Today is the 70th anniversary of the martyrdom of Blessed Father Antoni Beszta-Borowski, the Polish priest killed by the Nazis who vowed that his parish would never have another priest, but his town has had many vocations come from there to the priesthood and religious life. The story of his stole has been told twice on this blog. I would not have realized that it was his anniversary, except that Magnificat featured Father in its "Saints of Yesterday and Today" section this past Saturday. I was very excited to see his short biography there, but it didn't compare to the sermon that Father Pawel gave on him.
